When visting the Adirondack region, stopping at Stewarts is basically a rite of passage. Stewarts is more than just a gas station offering great ice cream and milkshakes along with hot food items including Clay and Christina’s post-hike staples of pizza and meatballs.

A 20 minute drive takes you to Saranac Lake, another quaint ADK town. Starting with a farmer’s market at 10AM and turning into a local artisan festival with live music, food, and drink starting at 12PM.

A short 3 minute walk from Golden Arrow is the Lake Placid Olympic Museum. North America’s 2nd largest Winter Olympic artifact collection housing interactive exhibits and innovative displays.

Explore the many stores located on Main Street in Lake Placid. Some of Clay and Christina’s favorite shops include Pure Placid and ADK chocolates. Weather permitting, make a stop at Mids Park to soak in lake and mountain views.

Located on Main Street, Big Z’s is a bar & grill with an indoor sport complex. They have bowling, billiards, arcade games, and sport simulator machines. A great spot for a laid back hang or rainy day.
